Southern Fried

Last night was Midtown Restaurant Week visit #2 at South City Kitchen. I was very much looking forward to this stop on my restaurant week tour, simply because I've become enthralled with the concept of Southern food since our move to Atlanta. SCK is supposed to be some of the best in the city, so this visit was highly anticipated. Unfortunately, my three-restaurant plan for the week was foiled; we had wanted to do Re'past on Sunday night to begin the week. But alas, Esquire's Best New Restaurant 2006 is closed on Sunday. I suppose some must have a day of rest, much to my dismay. Hence, I had to settle for two restaurants for the week: the previously reviewed Ecco and of course, SCK. We've had quite a few summer thunderstorms this week in Atlanta, the latest of which delayed our arrival to South City Kitchen on Thursday night. As a newbie to this city, I know to expect a little traffic here and there. With that being said, I don't think Atlantans like to drive in the rain, because it took me 35 minutes to get from my office at 25th and Peachtree to the restaurant at 12th and Crescent, one block off P'tree. Ooooooh-k. Deep breath, no road rage. Martinis and vino straight ahead. For the most part, I have learned to live my life completely ITP, only going OTP between the hours of 10a-4p when traffic is relatively light. Really, I see very few reasons to go OTP except for the occasional work appointment. Although I have not lived here long, I will take this opportunity to congratulate myself on living ITP. Good choice. Yay Me! If I had to drive 60+ minutes to get to work in exchange for living a mere 12 miles from the city, I think my hair follicles would despise me for the havoc I would reak on my head from ripping mah hair out. But I digress. Back to the restaurant review. We had a large party, 10 of us from the office. Serving a large party can be difficult sometimes. Servers work hard for their money, and I believe time is money. (Read: listen up when they talk. Respect. They have valuable information regarding the money you're about to drop.) Our server was particularly charming and didn't seem to mind that we were 30 minutes late for our res due to the rain. He was very menu savvy, and indicated that he had been through extensive training so that he had a thorough understanding of the menu as well as the wine list... definitely a plus in my book. The restaurant week selections were tempting, but in the end I decided to go with a few of the reliable menu standbys. We all enjoyed the cornbread and biscuits to start... of which I preferred the biscuits, but would have appreciated a bit o' honey to accompany. The cornbread was disappointing -- a bit dry and not sweet enough for my tastes. My salad was fantastique... juicy summer tomatoes accompanied by pickled vidalias (so sweet!), cornbread croutons and cucumber green goddess dressing. It was delish - the nearly perfect summer combo. My only complaint was the salad was advertised with bleu cheese and came with goat instead. I'm not a huge goat cheese fan... I think it tastes a little dirty-socky. I know, I'm weird. It's one of the only foodie foods I don't like. However, the salad still gets a rave review from moi. Now on to my entree... the buttermilk fried chicken. I have a fried chicken obsession: I love it so. The best I've ever had was at a now-defunct gay bar in KC, Opal's Kitchen. We went there before the Elton John concert, how perfect! It was wonderfully juicy with the most flavorful coating: herbs, crushed cornflakes, and the rest of the goodies that go in to frying a perfectly beautiful chicken breast/leg/thigh. I was sooo excited to try SCK's because I've heard it is some of the best in ATL. I will say, the presentation was gorge. (I like to abreve.) Perfectly crisp, resting on a bed of tender green beans and mashed potatoes. One of my pet peeves is a dry breast, and SCK's was very flavorful and juicy. Not dry at all. Cooking white meat is an art... turkey or chicken. Don't dry it out people. It just ain't good that way. Anyway, the coating was quite crisp and flavorful, and the meat succulent. The accompaniments did not disappoint. However, it just wasn't Opal's Elton John chicken. It was missing that extra something... that perk that comes from a gorgeous bag, a fabulous pair of shoes, or the most ginormous pair of sunglasses you could ever find. The search continues. I will say though, I will return to South City Kitchen. The restaurant has been open for 13 years, and for good reason. The interior is simply charming as it is in a refurbished midtown house complete with subway-tiled fireplace. The dining room is clean, fresh and simple...yet surprisingly cozy. The flower arrangements are breathtaking. I'd definitely like to try the sauteed shrimp and scallops over creamy stone ground grits as well as the crab hash. Until we meet again...

Welcome To My New Layout

Beinvenidos a mi new layout! Enjoy the Warhol kitschiness. I'm still working out the kinks...I wish it was more of a banner-ish type top, but the graphic was too good to pass up. Thanks to my friend Toddys for the graphics help. Hopefully Blog Soup should be a bit easier to read now. Have a great Labor Day weekend... I should have some fun stuff to report come Monday eve.

From Oscar to Olive Oil

Last night I had dinner at Ecco with a new friend of mine who is an associate editor at Atlanta Magazine. The mag, which happens to be the oldest city-themed magazine in America, just did a redesign and looks fabulous if I do say so myself. Her job is so fascinating that of course the conversation instantly turned towards work, and I quizzed her about all the fun things she gets to do as editor. Not only does she coordinate all of the magazine's fashion shoots and write articles, but I came to find out that this past Monday night, she got to interview (drumroll please...) Oscar de la Renta! OMG! AB at Atlanta Mag officially has the coolest job EVER. So now I am officially one degree from Oscar. Sweet. But on to Ecco. What a beautiful, warm dining room it is. Situated on a cute corner in Midtown, Ecco makes for the perfect date spot. Food is authentic and the pastas and pizza doughs are made fresh on premises. We attended for Midtown Restaurant Week, and I'm happy to say it was a prime choice. My meal was comforting, but I simply must rave about the dessert. I chose the olive oil cake with rosemary ice cream and orange marmalade. Magnifique! The true standout was the rosemary ice cream; fragrant, sweet, and a bit savory all at the same time. Definitely a must have if you ever visit Ecco.

Pasta Dell'Amore

We were lucky enough to spend a short time in the Cinque Terre when we were on our honeymoon this spring. It was one of the most gorgeous places I have ever been and I can't wait to return to spend more time in the region. This recipe is simple, much like the food found in Northern Italy... and all of Italy for that matter. I didn't really have a recipe for this, I just threw it together and it made a lovely summer meal. I will also note that 'pappardelle' is one of my favorite words of all time. So is effervescent. Lemon Pappardelle with Thin Beans and Tuna 4 oz regular or lemon pepper pappardelle (lemon variety found at TJ's) 6 oz of cooked tuna OR two (3) ounce cans high quality tuna packed in olive oil, drained 2 c. thin green beans, chopped into 1" pieces handful chopped basil olive oil for dressing Juice of 2 lemons (if you don't have lemon papardelle) freshly grated parmesan cheese salt and pepper to taste Boil pasta approximately 5 minutes. Add chopped beans and continue to cook pasta and beans until pasta is al dente and beans are tender crisp. Drain. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, cheese and basil. Note: if working with plain pasta, whisk juice of 2 lemons together with olive oil and toss with hot pasta. Also good cold.

Restaurant Snippets

Taurus provides for a stylish business lunch. Located in Brookwood, right on the cusp of Buckhead and Midtown, Taurus was voted best new restaurant by Jezebel Magazine in 2005. Personally, I've had the seared trout and the grilled cheese on brioche. Both were above average and competitively priced. Service gets a B.

Everybody's Pizza is that neighborhood sweet spot that just fits when you need a chill night with your husband to enjoy pizza and a beer. Conveniently, we could practically walk there... but as my blogging friend Leslie says, this is Atlanta. Plus it is 100+ degrees outside. Come to think of it, that's great because Park Tavern is offering $1 drafts each day Accuweather forecasts the heat index to be over 100. Looks like I'll be drinking lots of value priced beer until Mutha Nature decides to chill the F out. Anyway, Everybody's was fantastic. We enjoyed the spinach dip with breadsticks, white pizza (seems to be popular in the South?) and also the Buffalo Chicken Pizza Crisp, which was tres fab. When it comes to pizza, it's all about the crust for me. So much that the toppings barely matter. The pizza crisp crust was divine -- we will definitely return. In other news, Midtown Restaurant Week starts on Sunday! WOOT! I have reservations at South City Kitchen, Ecco and Repast. It's going to be a good week.

I Dorked Out Bigtime Today...

...and drove off from the gas station with the pump still in my tank. Oops! For those of you that know me in real life, this will come as no surprise to you.

Be Bold, Not Beige

I love IKEA's new slogan -- Be Bold, Not Beige. That sums up my decorating theory exactly. Though I love the community we've chosen here in the ATL, it is very very beige. Walls. Carpet. More walls & carpet. Tres monochromatic in that sterile kind of way. Kind of that "I need to wrap myself in a straitjacket" type of feeling. I actually considered padding a room. When that thought crossed my mind, I knew I needed an IV of paint, stat. To Lowe's we go. This weekend was spent completing various apartment improvement projects to make our place feel a bit more like home. Coming down off our house in KC which was saturated in color, I needed at least a little soemthing to make me feel as if I weren't living in an asylum. Here are the results: Front door, adorned with a cherry blossom wreath:

Entryway. I wanted a funky green, and that's what I got!

Entryway View #2: Living room with "Tropical Nut" accent wall:

Wowza

So today, this tasty morsel came to our radio station to sing a few diddys for us. Sweet Jeezus, that's entertainment. One of the beauties of my industry is that up & coming artists will typically do a radio tour, where they'll go coast to coast and sing at radio stations for anyone who will listen. On air staff, salespeople, receptionists... doesn't matter, they just want to get their name out. Chuck (or Charlie, as I prefer to refer to him) is certainly having some good luck with that. Left to right, I'm positive that the ladies are simply swooning over his ruggedly handsome looks. Vocally, I would categorize him as the perfect mix between James Taylor & Keith Urban. Also to his advantage, Chuck/Charlie will be appearing on the new Fox series "Nashville," which follows the lives of four or five up and comers in Music City. Tune in (or DVR, as I'll do) for the premiere on September 14th, 9pm eastern. The songster stuck around for about half an hour after his performance to sign autographs and chat a bit. FYI, for anyone interested down the road, his stripper name would be Scooter Sunnyside. Hawt? Best of luck to you CW, you were certainly a treat for us today!

The Crown Jewel

After tonight, I can officially die a happy woman. The Mister and I had a lovely evening on the town tonight, of which I will detail for you in today's entry. After battling the horrid Atlanta traffic, we began our night at one of the featured restaurants of Downtown ATL Restaurant Week. This is a splendid week in our town where several of the downtown eateries offer a prix fixe menu consisting of three courses for a mere $25. What a dealio! We decided to try Thrive, a sleek new bistro not far from my favorite cable news network. We chose Thrive because of their course selection: they offered several choices per course while some of the other restaurants offered just one option. The interior of the restaurant was very modern, with dark wood tables and off white leather seating. A pretty Tiffany blue suede trimmed the room and added a nice element of freshness. Thrive has an inventive cocktail menu, something I am always happy to see. For the first course, I had the ginger chicken and potato pot stickers, which were mildly flavorful and a bit soggy. Mr. Soup had the portabella and mozzarella bruschetta, which tasted disappointingly like a microwaved Totino's Pizza. Eww. The second course was much more satisfying. I had a flavorful, perfectly seasoned cold water grilled salmon steak served atop lemon risotto, while the Mister enjoyed grilled Alaskan Halibut over cilantro sweet corn rice with a red pepper coulis. Service was a 3.5 out of 5.... once we told our server that we were on our way to the theater, he was much more prompt and attentive. So attentive infact that our entrees arrived just minutes after our apps. Oooooo-k. In defense of the young chap, I don't think he was used to being so busy, as his hands were slightly shaky when he placed my second cocktail in front of me. (Lay off the uppers before work, garcon.) For the dessert course, Senor Zuppa had a mini raspberry cheesecake (mediocre) while I had the chocolate mousse cake. Not a bad take for 25 bills. And now on to my most favorite 2.5 hours in Atlanta since we moved here. This evening, we were lucky enough to have tickets to Michael Buble. If you haven't listened to his music, click here. And here, too. For those not familiar with his music, Buble sings fantastic updated renditions of classics as well as a few originals. Handsome, energetic, and charismatic with a voice clear as a bell, Mr. B put on one of the best concerts I have ever seen. EVER. SEEN. Not only did he sing tunes from the three albums he's produced in the last five years, but he wasn't afraid to interact and talk with his audience. He crooned while standing on a chair in the middle of the crowd, and took pictures with kids in the first few rows. He cracked jokes and showed the audience his personality, despite what his contract told him to do. Listening to Michael Buble on my iPod is one thing... seeing him in concert was a completely different experience. The whole concert was simply fabulous, and I wish I had a video of the entirety so I could share it all with you. If I had to pick a few favorite moments, it would be hearing "Feelin Good" live or rockin' out with the choir from the Ebenezer Baptist Church (of Dr. Martin Luther King fame) while they backed up MB on "That's Life." Praise Be! Other than that, every other song was, well... remarkable. I would gladly pay twice what we paid for our tickets to see Michael Buble again. Next time though, I plan on being in one of the front few rows and bringing a spare bra to fling on stage. Thrive on Urbanspoon

Puttin' The Herb in Suburb

One of my favorite shows begins it's third season Monday night on Showtime. Admittedly, I didn't watch the first two seasons of Weeds as they aired each week. How that missed my radar I have not a clue. Rather, the Mister and I were tipped off that it was something we should check out, and after one epi, we were hooked. Two days, three pizzas, two rolls of cookie dough, and a bag of cheezy poofs later, we were done with season 2 on Netflix. So to say I'm stoked about the start of season three is an understatement. The following is a plot synopsis, courtesy of Wikipedia: Season 1 The fictional affluent Los Angeles, California suburb of Agrestic (an English word meaning "characteristic of the fields or country", but having a second meaning as "crude: lacking the qualities associated with sophistication") is home to Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker), whose husband Judah (Jeffrey Dean Morgan - HAWT Denny from Greys) has recently, and suddenly, died. Nancy begins dealing marijuana to locals in her suburban town in order to support her household while maintaining an upper-middle-class lifestyle. As depicted in the series, Agrestic has a public school system, where Nancy's children Silas (Hunter Parrish) and Shane (Alexander Gould) both attend. Botwin befriends the manic, image-obsessed Celia Hodes (Elizabeth Perkins) president of the Agrestic PTA, who has several domestic issues. Heylia James (Tonye Patano), assisted by her nephew Conrad (Romany Malco - also HAWT), supplies Nancy with marijuana. Andy Botwin (Justin Kirk), brother of Nancy's late husband, and the family's black sheep, says he has moved into the Botwin household to help Nancy out, but perhaps he is just there to free-load. Season 2 The second season, while still comedic, takes a darker turn as Nancy gets deeper into dangerous activity. She begins to grow her own plants against Heylia's advice, but with the assistance of Conrad. Several other Agrestic residents help Nancy also, including her brother-in-law, Andy, and the Town Councilman, Doug Wilson (Kevin Nealon). Meanwhile, she also has a dangerous relationship with a DEA agent, Peter Scottson, which contains twists and turns each episode. Nancy's sons become increasingly more aware of her drug dealings, and each forms his own way of dealing with that information. Having recovered from breast cancer, Celia defeats Doug in an election. Unaware of her friends' activities, Celia tries to turn all of Agrestic into a drug-free zone, and finds herself in unexpected circumstances. Andy, concerned about the possibility of being sent to Iraq because of a long-forgotten Army Reserve commitment, decides to take up religion, after a fashion. The season concludes with a cliffhanger, with several characters posed in a Mexican standoff. (what constitutes a mexican standoff anyway?) HELL YEAH! With a plot like that, you gots to show some love. Rumor has it that episodes have leaked to the internet, which in my opinion is unfortunate. I prefer the suspense. Also unfortunate, Mary-Kate Olsen will be appearing in 10 of 15 episodes this season. I could've thought of like, 18 more suitable actresses to play Silas' new love interest, but I digress. Tune in to Showtime on Monday night at 10pm ET for some serious homegrown dark comedy.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!

You Are an Excellent Cook
You're a top cook, but you weren't born that way. It's taken a lot of practice, a lot of experimenting, and a lot of learning. It's likely that you have what it takes to be a top chef, should you have the desire...
Are'>http://www.blogthings.com/areyouagoodcookquiz/">Are You A Good Cook?
I am so happy about this. Thanks to The Southern Social for having this in her blog. Everyone likes a little extra substantiation, however with that being said, the Mister is always very complimentary of my culinary prowess. I think I might make a badge or a button with this on it, and perhaps pin it to one of my aprons.

From JT to WT In The Span of 2 Days

Tonight's agenda:

Got last minute tickets from work. Actually, I am kind of excited because he is the only major country act I haven't seen... and well, when you work in the biz, you gots to know what's goin' on. Thank God he doesn't look like that anymore though... he is totally channeling the Geico dudes in that pic.

Justin! Bring Sexy Back Already! Geeez!

Ok, so last night was the JT concert that I've been anxiously awaiting. After a fresh & yummy dinner under 475 calories at Seasons 52 in Buckhead (I had the grilled halibut and summer corn risotto), we headed up to the Arena at Gwinnett. My friend Ashley from work and her darling sister Melanie graciously agreed to tote the Mister and myself, so props to Ash for commandeering the JT train. Good Charlotte was the opener, and quite frankly none of us cared, as we arrived just as the man himself took the stage. (Sidebar: the only reason I might've remotely cared is if G.C. girlfriend Nicole Richie decided to come on stage and show herself in her preggo glory. No such luck though.) Now let me tell you, there is nothing like walking into a concert and literally feeling the anticipation of the artist taking the stage. Justin ascended straight out tha' stage and after a little opening phunkadelic, busted right into "My Love," which I happen to think is one of his finest tunes. Cheers to Justin's A/V crew, who did a fabulous job really making this a show more than just a concert. The show was in the round, and JT did a great job of showing his fine ass to the crowd. I'd have to say my fave was "What Goes Around," which went a little something like this. Ladies, the rumors are true, that boy can really shake a tailfeather. Amen! As a nice layer of icing on the cake, Timbaland came out and DJ'ed during halftime, and did not disappoint.

Of course you can't attend a pop concert without some minor drawbacks. Although I loved the show and thought my ticket was worth the price, I could have done without:

  • seats directly behind a gaggle of 4th graders
  • hoardes of waaaay too short skirts on ho-ish looking young ladies. Get some class already!
  • $8 beers (wait wait, don't misconstrue. Beers I must definitely have. $8 beers are questionable.)
  • JT playing til after 11:30. Seriously. There was a point where we looked at each other and were just begging for him to play SexyBack and get it over with. He played it, left the stage, and came back 30 seconds later for an encore. That was the point where we kissed the man goodbye. I mean, when the 4th graders are even falling asleep, it's time to check out.

Overall a good show. I think it will pale in comparison to Michael Buble though. Fabulous Fox Theater, here we come!

I Was Bourne Ready

First most exciting event of the weekend: The Husbanator arrived back in the ATL from a two-week long biz trip. Need a newlywed explain more? I made him a tasty meal of Northern Italian Stuffed Shells courtesy of my friend Leslie. I morphed her recipe a bit by stuffing the shells with a mixture of spinach, lean ground turkey breast and sausage for tons of flavor. Since I don't want to completely steal her thunder, I'm hoping Les will post the recipe on her site so she can take full credit for her culinary genius. Second most exciting event of the weekend: Seeing the new Jason Bourne flick. Mr. Soup & I decided to hit up the matinee this morning (yes, morning... we were that excited) at Atlantic Station. Atlantic Station is a fun new area in Atlanta, with lots of shiny new shops (West Elm and Ikea, yay!) and some good looking restaurants. Side note, I did have drinks at the very uptownish Dolce a few weeks ago, as well as popped my head into sushi's Geisha House. Both are owned by the same group in Atlantic Station, and I'd like to return to each. Anyway, back on topic... I give The Bourne Ultimatum 4 stars. Being that this is my first mention of a movie on Blog Soup, I don't want you to think that I'm a Quick Draw McGraw when it comes to doling out the stars. I'm a picky moviegoer, so much that the Mr. and I rarely even go to the movies. I'd much rather chill on the couch and pop a Netflix than actually go to the theater. But there was no way we were going to miss the opening weekend of Bourne. And let me tell you folks, it did not disappoint. I won't give any spoilers here, but I will advise you to brush up on Bourne's Identity and Supremacy and get ready for 2 hours of pure entertainment. Plus, it doesn't hurt that Matt Damon is easy on the eyes... or a "good actor" as I like to tell the Mister.

What We Have Here Is A Failure To Communicate

International travel is a beautiful thing. International travel for work... well, it ain't so bad except for the working part. Or except for when your Mr.'s celly is out of order. Mr. Soup works in the telecommunications industry and, according to me, is quite good at his job. I'm envious that it includes the occasional jaunt to Europe, Asia and even Australia. However, 'tain't so cool when the little lady is left at home with no husband-related celly contact. I've been fine for the most part thus far, but I'm about fed up. Plus, I just can't understand why an international TELECOM COMPANY can't seem to make a cell phone work. Dial S for stupid (or schtew-pid, as the English would say.) Hmmmph. Only a little while longer. I suppose this means I'll need to self medicate my distaste for this situation with a tall, cool glass of vardka.

Well-Behaved Women Rarely Make History: An Essay In Pictures

Golly gee willigers! Being a jet setting, hawt young female is tough these days. Especially when you have a blog to tend to. I mean, how could it be humanly possible to summarize such a fantastic weekend with my besties by using mere words? As much as I adore the power of rhetoric, to encapsulate this weekend in script would be to blaspheme. Hence, I present you with Well-Behaved Women Rarely Make History: An Essay in Pictures. Okay, and it might include the occassional caption. Or paragraph. Whatever. On with the show!

Our weekend began on Thursday night with some casual pizza and beers with Emma Sue and Ash at Fellini's on Ponce. We were waiting for Mander's plane to arrive, so we thought we better hit the local watering hole to make sure we were properly hydrated. Conveniently, this was located right next to La Fawnduh Latina, which is actually a Latin restaurant but provided us with a good laugh.

We ended the evening with some rehashing of Flight of the Conchords, our collective new fave show. They all think Jermaine is hotter, but that's ok because I prefer Bret's delicate features.

Friday morning came quite early, and unfortunately I had to hit up my place of employment for some face time. We did, however, manage to have a lovely 2-martini lunch at Buckhead Diner, where we made our first stop on our whirlwind Tuna Tartare tour. Draw your own conclusions as to whether or not 'Tuna Tartare' became a theme for the weekend... ahem. Then we were then greeted by this friendly fellow on our way home (oops, I mean the lika' sto') from BD... isn't he handsome? He's the mascot for our local car wash.

Then, in an exciting turn of events, we saw this specimen!

Hey lady, Zorro called, he wants his pants back!

Surprisingly enough, I had yet to find the best liquor store in my n'hood, so the besties helped me in my quest. While we were busy collecting the makings for Emtinis and vardka-Red Bulls, we came across this little gem:
Nice find Emma Sue! That one goes out to alllll yooou ladies out there.

Ah, now back to the house to relax. No relaxation during a femme fatale weekend is complete without drink in hand, so we whipped up these beauties so we could get our crunk on.

In case you're interested (and I know you are):

Emtini (named after the famed Emma Sue Pants)

  • Equal Parts Mango Vardka and Fresca Citrus Soda

  • Dash o' Cranberry or Pomegranate Juice
  • Shake or pour over ice. Voila!

By the time Friday PM rolled around, I was ready to get my groove on. I was particularly excited because we had a resi at Two Urban Licks, one of the hottest restaurants in Hottielanta. We were responsible youngsters and called a cab for our transport, simply because we wanted to roll up in style. FYI, I don't reccomend Lenox Cab:

Overall, Two Urban was everything I had expected and more. It was also the scene of Tuna Tartare Tour 2007 Stop #2. Even better than Buckhead Diner! The restaurant is in an old warehouse, so it gives that uber funktastic Sex & The City vibe. See how trendy and bored-model looking we are here? So hawt.

On the flip, Ash and Mander (pictured left to right) looking entirely too angelic:
I have to give props to Two Urban for their ultra cool decor and innovative table lighting. Photo credits: Mander

Our din din ended with two very friendly valets, Eric & Isaiah, giving us a ride up to the Highlands to continue the debauchery. It didn't hurt that we heard a JT song on the way to the bars to get properly pumped.

I take no responsiblity for the following. It's lucky that none of us ever plan on running for office. (Right guys? Right?)

The besties:

Everyone looking good, except me. Am I even with it today?

Ash crashes out early (10:30p), ciggy in hand:

Gawd I lurve to text!

Obviously everyone loves texting as much as I do, since they're not paying attention to how I won So You Think You Can Dance:

Emma Sue wants YOU for the Army!

Smell my fingie!

No wait, smell it again!

And one more time, for posterity's sake. Ooh, that's rough.

Oh come on. You knew she'd pick up! She asked him if he'd shave a mysterious unicorn mustache, but he declined.

Grr, Mander, very grrr.

Ashley's new husband... well he thinks so at least.

Delicious and Refreshing! So ATL.

Well, that 'bout sums up our weekend (or at least the first 24 hours) in the big A. We did hit up a few other hawt spots over the rest of the weekend, the choicest of which I may review in another post. But for right now, I'll leave you with this little homage to our fair city, again courtesy of Mander-Pie.

Once upon a time hot biaches visited the 'Lanta
They had more jollies than good ole Santa.
Eating and drinking what a merry blast
A weekend like that can’t be surpassed.

We almost had a heart attack
When we saw that Zorro wanted his pants back.
Boozing it hard core at Two Urban Licks
Proved to be quite a hilarious schtick.

Shopping and dining and partying abound
We were on the prowl like a blue tick hound.
Nothing compares to a weekend with the ladies
For all the sins we committed, we’re going to Hades!
